Our Mission:
Create global citizens.
We give students the tools to leverage their unique experiences abroad to help them advance and make the world a more inclusive and equitable place.
We give students the tools to leverage their unique experiences abroad to help them advance and make the world a more inclusive and equitable place.
We started with our annual returnee study abroad conference back in 2013.
Through our programming we’ve gotten to meet and connect with over 800 students!
Our participants are truly global citizens. Collectively we’ve visited over 30 countries!
Our annual conference brings together students who have recently returned or are about to embark on their abroad journey. The programming is focused on helping students to leverage their experiences both academically and professionally.
We plan to launch a mentorship program with the goal of connecting students with a mentor within their chosen career field with a global minded focus. Stay tuned on this space for updates.
Our content is focused around ways returned study abroad students can enhance and market their study abroad experience in their chosen career field. Learn from seasoned professionals that work on an international scale, or just how to frame your study abroad experience in your resume and leverage the skills you learned abroad.
Connections don’t happen without outreach, so our goal is to facilitate that for returned study abroad students. Whether this is at our annual conference or during one of our in-person or virtual meetups, establishing and keeping networking connections is something we make possible for our returnees.

There’s many ways for you to engage further with us, whether that be a partnership with your brand, serving on a planning committee, or just by attending an event.
Recently returned from study abroad? Or maybe you’re a faculty leader or study abroad advisor who is looking for reentry opportunities for your students. Check out our upcoming programming here.
The annual conference is a great way to get involved with LFA Chicago. We always need extra hands in putting together something that brings in over 100 students each year. LFA Chicago has continued to exist because of people standing up and getting involved with what we do.
